Liza Pulman, comedienne, songstress and one third of the iconic Fascinating Aida, has teamed up with the quick-witted musical virtuoso Joe Stilgoe for a brand-new show. A Couple of Swells brings together their unique musical styles and stories from two fascinating careers, featuring some of their all-time favourite songs, sprinkled with heaps of panache and a whole lot of dazzle!

Following her highly acclaimed West End tour de force Liza Pulman Sings Streisand, Liza returns with her brand new show THE HEART OF IT. In an evening of music and romance, once again in the company of her band of ace musicians, Liza rediscovers and reimagines timeless classics and lost gems that have no business being lost. Her funny, intelligent and emotional connection to lyrics and melody goes straight to the heart of every song with a diverse and eclectic range of influences through Michel Le Grand, Irving Berlin, Randy Newman, Judy Collins and a host of others.

Sharing anecdotes rich in warmth and humour, Liza will have you laughing one minute and crying the next in an evening which will both break your heart and make it sing.

The album and show THE HEART OF IT premiered at London’s Riverside Studios playing to capacity houses and ecstatic reviews with fryer shows at London’s Cadogan Hall and a run at The Other Palace  The album was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios with legendary producer Chris Porter at the helm. with guest musicians including Danny Cummings (drums, Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits), Tony Levin (bass, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), Chris Cameron (piano, George Michael) Simon Lepper and Joe Stilgoe.
